Our Story

Founded with a vision to reimagine middle school education, DBA was created for students who benefit from a more personalized, relational, and innovative approach to learning.

We believe every student is uniquely gifted, and middle school should be a time of discovery, growth, and connection—not just preparation for high school.

Here, we nurture not only academic excellence but also emotional intelligence, executive functioning skills, and Christlike character. We are a place where students are truly seen, heard, and supported.

A Legacy of Courage, Faith, and Conviction

At DBA, we proudly take our name from Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German pastor, theologian, and educator who modeled deep faith, intellectual brilliance, and unwavering moral courage.

Bonhoeffer stood boldly for truth, justice, and compassion during one of history’s most challenging times. His life’s work centered around community, service, and living out one’s beliefs with conviction.

Throughout his life, Bonhoeffer served as a teacher, pastor, and advocate for others. His writings, including Life Together and The Cost of Discipleship, continue to inspire people worldwide to lead lives rooted in integrity, humility, and purpose.

At DBA, we strive to carry forward his legacy—encouraging students to be bold thinkers, compassionate leaders, and faithful followers of Christ in their communities and beyond.

“The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.” —Dietrich Bonhoeffer
