DBA Names Dynamic Educator as Founding Head of School

Houston, TX, November 14th – The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Eric Lerch to serve as the Founding Head of School of Dietrich Bonhoeffer Academy. He will be joining DBA after 19 years at Episcopal High School, where he has excelled as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Mr. Lerch will begin next July in advance of DBA’s inaugural school year in 2022-2023.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer Academy is an independent middle school in Southwest Houston that emphasizes teamwork, imagination, and courage to help young people achieve a superior education. DBA combines an innovative classroom experience with exceptional preparation in the skills and knowledge needed for success in high school. 

Mr. Lerch brings an outstanding record as a school leader to this position. He holds extensive experience supporting students and their families during the transition into high school. His proficiency in curriculum design and learning systems will advance the unique vision of the learning environment at DBA. In addition, his dynamism as a teacher will benefit students as the lead classroom instructor during the school’s first year.
